Our collective awareness of value and money is shifting. Prices soar as what is of worth becomes questionable. This is true for tangible goods like food and resources, as well as our shared ideals. As the old systems shake and fall away, we get to create something new. Tit for tat has been a part of our market exchange, and is shifting; In reality, our money is a symbol of energy. From that we are moving into mutual exchange, service, and love. It feels like we are very close to heaven on earth. We are now exploring the steps between what was, what is, and what could be.
Our “this for that” mentality is the main mode for capitalism. BUT it does not go as smoothly as it sounds. It has turned into a model of extraction, where one party tries to “get it in” over somebody. Part of why our roads take so long to be built is because the man laying the road accepted the job getting paid $15 an hour when he felt his work is worth $20. He begins to feel undervalued for his labor and starts working as if he is paid $13. His boss feels his worth is $70,000 a year but he is getting paid $60,000. So he starts working like he is getting paid $50,000. This is the model on how they were hired.
This stems from a disconnect between how time and energy are valued. The company who hired them tries to “make” money so they undervalue the service and offer less pay. The worker in turn tries to “stick it to the man.” Every person within this framework is essentially trying to extract money, energy, and resources from the other. While this is not the only way one can operate within our current setup, it is common. The incentives for both the business and the worker are opposing. So we then think up a system where the values and incentives are pointed in the same direction.
Perhaps one of the ways is having a percentage share economy. A worker is given a percentage of income for the job. The payment for the work is shared among all equally and paid out daily. Instead of a hierarchy of experience, those who wish to take on more or different tasks can do them. We can then offer bonuses or partial percentages for finding new projects, workers, or new business avenues for those who are more interested in exploring. This permits for a freedom of thought within the work place, empowers the individual to take action, and motivates them monetarily to do so.
This approach allows for both the success of the ones who are creative and excited about their work, and for the ones who are there to just “get mine.” Working with business developers, managers and creators, I have found that the biggest headache for many is the 20% of people who just do not want to do the work. Inversely there are about 20% of people who love what they do and bring in verve and inspiration with them daily. For any type of community standard, we must acknowledge and make room for both types. We do not know what is occurring within the life of another. Their inherent value does not change based on their performance within their place of work. We can reward and encourage the successful, uplift the weary, while sustaining both.
Love and Service are the mediators in this. Our time and energy given freely is one of the single simplest gifts we offer to others and ourselves. Giving without expectation brings joy to everyone involved or witnessing it. However, it is important for us to approach this with love for others, and importantly ourselves. Continually giving without reciprocation diminishes the giver and the one accepting. It places them into a position of codependency that often breeds resentment and shame. For the giver it creates anger and scorn. These types of one-sided exchanges are usually based on feelings of low self-worth for both parties. It is a return to our self-worth that allows for appropriate sharing.
Heaven on Earth is what we are here to create, and service is the way. How we balance the exchange of our time and energy with our self-value is up to us. It is important that when we give, we do so from a place of love and fullness and not from a feeling of neediness, guilt or scarcity. Should we do so, we create more of the same, and the cycle perpetuates. It is through genuine loving interactions that we will begin to see a monetary exchange of goods and services diminish When we trust in the Universal Law of Reciprocation, there is no need to put a price tag on things. Our energy will always be returned to us. This is not only practical, but feels good within our hearts as we experience it. The door to that new future is here. Open it and step inside.
All the Love,
Ryan Orion
Fasting Notes:
Today is day one. Today is day one. Today is day one.
A part of me never thought I could make it this far. I am reflecting on just how much has changed within me and how blessed I am to be in a space full of love.
One of those reflections has been my relationship with money. A part of me had a block about accepting financial gain for my spiritual explorations, and I am reminded to turn into my sense of self- love and value. A part of this stemmed from a lack of appreciation for myself. While I fully believe we are shifting into a service and love based economy without the need for financial exchange, we are not fully there yet. With that in mind I am going to switch from a fully donation based platform to a hybrid-system. I will still have offerings that are donation based and perhaps even some one-on-one sessions. We can still be service based in accepting money for our work, and I intend to fill personal sessions with at much love, wisdom and help as possible in the time we have together.
