From the time I woke up and opened my eyes, it took me about an hour to put my feet to the floor, and another 20 minutes to stand up. Every excuse imaginable came up. “I am tired,” “I did too much yesterday,” “Today is a good day to sleep in.” Those might have been true for a moment, but the more I examined them and sat with the feeling, I felt like I was capable of more today. They felt like the voice of my lower nature. I knew that if I really listened to it, I would miss out on a wonderful morning. We each have the choice to empower that voice, or tune into something greater.
There is an optimal path for all of us each day. These are the days when everything syncs up for us. We feel energized through our morning routine and hit the day’s stride beautifully. Strangers greet us with a smile, our favorite songs play on the radio as we pass by, and our work goes smoothly. This does not mean that there are no snags, or opportunities for growth, but they are seen in the same light, as little joys. These are the days when we are exploring our capability, and living to our fullest potential. We are balanced with our surroundings and feel a smoothness to our movement and our work. It is the moments we get caught up with the darker inner voice that we fall short of our potential and delay with mind games.
This is the choice we make, are we going to exercise, or exorcise those inner demons? To exercise them is to give them free reign. When we feel that first bit of resistance in the morning ” I don’t wanna get out of bed” and entertain it, this is giving away our power to that lower nature. This creates a siphoning away of will power and life force into stagnation, until the simple things that brought us Joy are now “too much work.” This is true of every instance when we tune into the “I probably should not do this” and then do it anyway. Each moment feeds the beast and it will return to the place it got a free meal. It is not from the first moment we listen to it, but the next dozen. The first time does begin a pattern though.
Exorcism is a removal of that darker and lower nature; however not in the way that we might think. We are every aspect of the universe, including the darker or lower bits. We do not want to destroy any part of creation, but instead to live in harmony with it. In extreme cases, this may require a banishing of truly dense, painful and hurtful patterns, but it is in general a remembrance that those patterns were originally here to help us. That lower nature is like a reminder of an old program that used to make sense. It is left over genetic coding within us from the time we were animals, plants, and minerals. Sleeping in all day, or all winter makes perfect sense if you are a bear.
It is then that we call forth the next phase of programming. We program ourselves through the choices we make. Over time we call this evolution. Our growth is the expansion and integration of both that which is coming in and that which was. Where they join is how we tune into our ability to create a beautiful and harmonious life, and where the two voices meet. It is our empowerment and expansion of either that sets our path. As we become more capable in balancing both, we can see that there are more potentials than polarity. Instead of the black and white of good and evil, angels and demons, we start seeing a rainbow reality that allows for all potentials to coexist.
All the Love,
Ryan Orion
Fasting Notes:
Today is a good day for rest. I am grateful that I got up this morning and moved around enough to gather energy to write this, but I Am going to take a nap. Which voice I am listening to, I am not sure, right now it feels more like my heart.
